From a simple barefoot ceremony to a chic and stylish affair, beach weddings are quintessentially Australian. With our spectacular beaches and sunny weather, you are almost guaranteed a fabulous day.
Decorations
As you will already have the gorgeous beach and water views as the backdrop to your wedding ceremony go for simple decorations like seashells, water-worn stones and sand-art. Consider using tropical flowers like frangipanis or native coastal flowers that should be able to withstand the sun, wind and salt. You can continue the theme at your reception by using the same shells, stones and flowers as table decorations.
The sounds and sights of nature
Think about where the sun will be and plan accordingly both for the comfort of you and your guests, but also for the photographer. Providing some extra pairs of sunglasses and hats for guests in case they don’t bring their own is a thoughtful gesture.
Wind and waves can be very noisy. If you are having a very small wedding you probably won’t need amplification, but if there will be more than 30 to 40 guests then you should plan to have microphones and a power source.
Arrive in style!
Imagine arriving by boat to your beach wedding or travelling by water to your reception! Step off the boat at The Waterfront Function Centre marina and pose for formal photographs. Afterwards, grab a glass of bubbles and stroll into your reception to be greeted by your friends and family, and more wonderful water views.
Stunning beachside parks and reserves surround The Waterfront Function Centre at Sans Souci. Contact Rockdale or Sutherland Councils for information about local sites and have a look at The Waterfront Function Centre’s wedding packages to help you plan your beach wedding.
