Congratulations! You’re getting married! Now you’ve decided to marry the love of your life you’ve got another big decision to make. What day to hold your wedding? Narrowing down a day can be quite complicated so here are some tips to help you out.
Who do you want at your wedding?
The company of friends and family is usually the most memorable part of a wedding. If your uncle or best friend can’t make it then both you and they will be very disappointed. Check with all your important guests to find out when most people will be free.
Is the venue available?
What dates does your preferred venue have available? When is the wedding celebrant free? If you have your heart set on a particular photographer check their availability as popular photographers book up a long time in advance.
Public Holidays
There are pros and cons to choosing a public holiday for your wedding.
Guests who are traveling a long distance can stay overnight or even for a few days without having to take time off work. It also means that you can plan pre and post-wedding celebrations, as guests are likely to be able to stick around for longer.
On the downside, there is usually a surcharge for services on public holidays.
Be Flexible
If you are willing to consider off-peak times then you will have a lot more choice, and probably save yourself some money. Winter weddings are less popular but can be a lot of fun, particularly in Australia where our winters are not harsh. Holding your wedding on an evening during the week can save you a lot of money also.
At The Waterfront Function Centre we have mid-year and other specials available, with some great inclusions to fit all budgets. We can help you find the right date and make planning your wedding that much easier.
