POSTPONING YOUR WEDDING…
First things first, if you’re currently planning your wedding and it’s scheduled within the next few months, then it’s probably safest to postpone your wedding! We’ve got a whole blog post dedicated to couples that need to postpone their wedding, so click here if you need more advice and tips on that. Alternatively, if you really want to get married on the scheduled day you could always consider having a low-key, self-quarantined wedding with just you and your partner!
YOU’LL NEED A POSITIVE MINDSET…
Before we even get into the steps of planning a wedding from home, we just wanted to remind you to keep up the positive thoughts! We understand that unexpected changes are never easy to handle. Lucky for you we’ve got a backup plan on how to plan your wedding from home. Don’t forget that planning your wedding should be an exciting experience for the two of you. So remember to try and stay positive, as this is all out of your control. At least now you’ll have lots of time to plan your wedding and you won’t need to rush any of it!
TIME TO GET INSPIRED…
This is the first step of your wedding planning and guess what.. you can do it all from the comfort of your own home! Now that you have lots of spare time, why don’t you grab your laptop and chill on the lounge with your partner to find some inspiration for all things wedding! A great starting point is our blog, where we share loads of how-to’s, tips, tricks and guides. You can also get inspiration from our Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook pages! We share only the best wedding inspo and you’ll find inspiration to save for rings, hairstyles, dresses, cakes, floral arrangements and much more. Why not create a vision board, so you can really get a sense of direction for your wedding!
FINDING SUPPLIERS…
It’s likely that you were planning on attending a wedding expo or event to get in touch with potential suppliers. Even though those sort of events won’t be going ahead right now, your search for the perfect suppliers doesn’t need to be put on hold! You can still browse for a range of suppliers online. We know it can be overwhelming and if you don’t know where to start, why not head over to the ‘Find A Supplier’ section on our website to find a perfectly created list of suppliers.
DO A VIRTUAL VENUE TOUR…
Okay, so visiting a bunch of venues with your partner may no longer be on the cards for a while, but that’s no reason to stop planning your wedding! Lucky for you, we’re in the 21st century and almost everything is possible now through technology. Many venue suppliers might already have 360-degree virtual tour video up on their website, so be sure to check those out! What if there’s a venue you love, but can’t find a 360-degree video for? No problem! We suggest getting in contact with the venue and trying to organise a virtual tour through Skype, Zoom or FaceTime. Many wedding venues will be more than accommodating. It also gives you the chance to ask the venue coordinator any questions that you might have!
VIRTUALLY TRY ON YOUR WEDDING DRESS…
Many wedding dress stores are adapting to the current situation and have started using technology that allows brides and bridesmaids to virtually try on dresses! For the ladies that must try on their wedding dress in real-life before purchasing, we totally get it, but this option can still help you out. Rather than waiting for wedding dress stores to open again, you can still use virtual try on’s to narrow down your options! It’s a great way to see various styles on yourself and if you narrow your options it will still save you lots of time later on.
BOOK A VIRTUAL CONSULTATION WITH A PHOTOGRAPHER…
You should be able to find a photographer’s sample work on their website, but you might have some questions for them. When you find a photographer you want to book, set up a virtual consultation! This will allow you to have a chat about some of the shots you want to get at your wedding and you guys can discuss some photoshoot ideas.
TRY YOUR WEDDING CAKE…
Most things can be done from home as long as everyone involved is happy to do some adjusting! Many catering services have done exactly that! They’ve adjusted their usual operations to offer couples like yourself virtual consults and tasting boxes. Who said that you can’t plan your wedding from the comfort of your home? Thanks to technology you can set up a virtual consult, decide on some wedding cakes and have some taste samples delivered to your door!
SEND YOUR WEDDING E-VITE…
Essentially, there’s no better time for e-vites than now. All you need is your laptop and you can start browsing through hundreds of wedding invite templates and start designing your own. The options are endless and once your date is locked in you can invite all your guests with the simplicity of a click. If you need more help with e-vites, then click here for our guide.
WRITE YOUR VOWS…
With all this extra time at home, you can focus on something that’s so important for your special day – your vows! Most couples tend to get super caught up with all the major parts of planning! Now that you have the time though, we suggest investing it in writing your vows, because this is one thing that you definitely do not want to rush! Most people leave this for last, but why not grab a pen and paper and get started early. It will take so much pressure of you leading up to your special day!
Before booking a vendor, be sure to ask these questions!
